Blackjack

The history of the game Blackjack is highly disputed, but most believe that the game originated from a blend of other games such as “Chemin De Fer” and “French Ferme”. Blackjack entered the gaming industry in French casinos during the 1700s and has been played in North America since the 1800s.

The game is termed Blackjack because if a player was dealt a Jack of Spades and and Ace of Spades as the first two cards in their hand they won. Today, the object of Blackjack is for the Player to draw cards that total 21 or come closer to 21 than the dealer without going over.
